The Analysis of Verbal Behavior. Published annually by
the
Association for Behavior Analysis International.
AVB is “primarily for the original publication of papers relevant to a behavioral
analysis of verbal behavior . . . . Papers should be relevant to at least one of the
following topics:
the elementary verbal operants, autoclitics, multiple control, private events,
rule-governed behavior, epistemology, scientific verbal behavior, language
acquisition, language assessment and training, second languages, pedagogy,
the verbal behavior of nonhumans, and verbal behavior research methodology.” Articles frequently relate to such topics as autism, developmental disabilities, and reading instruction/rule following. All the back issues, from 1982 until two years ago, are now available at the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed Central. (A two-year embargo is now in force.) |
| Animal Behaviour. Published monthly for the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour and the Animal Behavior Society by Academic Press London. Animal Cognition. Four issues per year are published by Springer Berlin Heidelberg.

Association for Behavior Analysis International.

The Behavior Analyst. Published twice a year
(Spring & Fall) by the Association
for Behavior Analysis International. It contains “general interest articles on theoretical,
experimental, and applied topics in behavior analysis. Articles on the past, present,
and future of behavior analysis, as well as its relation to other fields, are
particularly appropriate.... [It] also publishes literature reviews, discussions
of previously published work, reinterpretations of published data, and articles
on behaviorism as a philosophy that are suitable to the general readership of the

Published quarterly by Wiley Interscience. “...aims to review and report research and practice involving the utilization of behavioral techniques to problems of treatment, care and development. These techniques may include behaviorally oriented strategies used in the assessment, evaluation, treatment, training and education of clients or patients, as well as training and organization techniques used with staff. Studies covering the entire range of relevant biological and neural sciences, for example, anatomy, chemistry, physiology, endocrinology, and pharmacology, are considered so long as behavioral variables are measured or manipulated or if the work has clear relevance to behavior. Studies on the genetic, evolutionary, and developmental aspects of behavior are also appropriate, as are behavioral studies, if they have clear implications for biological processes or mechanisms." Psychological Record. A quarterly journal of
psychology. The journal was founded by renowned interbehaviorist, J.R. Kantor, with one
of the most influential American psychologists, B.F. Skinner, serving as the experimental
department editor at the journal’s inception. Since 1937, the journal has published
psychological theory and research concerned with a broad range of scientific topics in
the discipline. All manuscripts are reviewed with respect to their scholarly merit.
The journal hopes to stimulate creative and innovative research by both newer and
seasoned researchers from many areas of the world. Time from submission to receipt
of editorial feedback averages approximately 2 months, and time from official acceptance
to printing averages approximately 9-12 months.”

To accomplish these missions, IBR also provides health, social, educational, and legal services to diverse populations in order to respond to the needs of society by improving the scientific understanding and application of behavioral science to identified problems. . . . “We have maintained a bibliography on taste aversion learning utilizing a variety of journal and on-line searches as well as benefiting from the generous contribution of preprints, reprints and pdf files from many colleagues. To date, the number of papers on conditioned taste aversion learning is approaching 3,000. The present database lists these papers and provides a mechanism for searching the articles according to a number of search functions.” The database is managed by Anthony L. Riley and Kevin B. Drug Self-administration and Discrimination Bibliographic Databases.
Drug Self-administration methodology is central to the experimental analysis of drug abuse and dependence (addiction). It constitutes a key technique in numerous investigations of drug intake and its neurobiological basis and has even been described by some as the “gold standard” among methods in the area. Drug Discrimination is widely recognized as one of the major methods for studying the behavioral and neuropharmacological effects of drugs and plays an important role in drug discovery and investigations of drug abuse.
